Holi Special Gujiya

Crisp, golden gujiyas filled with rich mawa and nutty goodness ..made extra flaky with Shobhna’s Organic Desi Ghee in the dough.

 

🥣 Dough:

  • 2 cups plain flour
  • 4 tbsp melted Shobhna’s Organic Desi Ghee
  • Water (as needed to knead)

Rub ghee into the flour until it resembles breadcrumbs. Slowly add water and knead into a firm dough. Cover and rest for 20–30 minutes.

 

🥥 Filling:

  • 1 cup mawa (crumbled)
  • ½ cup mixed chopped nuts
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • 2–3 tbsp desiccated coconut
  • Few saffron strands

Mix all ingredients well until combined.

 

🥟 Assembly & Frying:

  • Roll small portions of dough into circles
  • Add filling in the center
  • Fold into a half-moon and seal edges (use a gujiya mould if available)
  • Deep fry in medium-hot oil/Ghee until golden, crisp and flaky
